Speech motivated Minnesota FFA president to set goals

Spencer Wolter

The new Minnesota FFA president says it was a speech by a former state president that sparked his interest in leadership.

Spencer Wolter is a senior at Windom High School.

“Three years ago Mallory Pagel gave her retiring address, and she talked all about goals and how you needed to set high goals to really strive and push for what you want in life.”

Wolter tells Brownfield there is still more to achieve.

“I took out an old floraculture ID card (that) I had in my pocket and scribbled down three goals, and one of them was to be a state or national FFA officer.  So I’m still trying to achieve my top goal, but I was so thrilled (to be named state president).”

Wolter will be attending the University of Minnesota this fall with plans to become a large animal veterinarian.
