Scorecard shows Presidential candidates mixed on ag issues

Scorecard

Ahead of Indiana’s May 3 primary, the Indiana Corn Growers Association and the Indiana Soybean Alliance Policy Committee have released their scorecard for the Republican and Democratic candidates.  The scorecard outlines each candidate’s position on five major ag issues.

ICGA and ISA reviewed statements, survey responses, sponsored legislation and social media statements to find positions on: the Renewable Fuels Standard, the farm bill, the Trans-Pacific Partnership trade agreement, legislation repealing the EPA’s Waters of the US rule (WOTUS), and voluntary GMO labeling legislation.

Neither organization is endorsing any candidate.  The goal of the scorecard is to inform corn and soybean farmers on the candidates’ position.

All candidates have been invited to an Indiana farm as they campaign in the state over the next two weeks.
