Cash butter closes higher

In Class III trade at the Chicago Mercantile Exchange, milk futures were mostly lower, with April through August down modestly and September through December up modestly. April was down $.04 at $13.80, May was $.04 lower at $13.71, June was down $.03 at $13.76, and July was $.03 lower at $13.95.

In the spot market, cash cheese barrels were unchanged at $1.4225. The last bid unfilled was on one load at that price. Blocks were down a penny at $1.47. The last offer uncovered was for two loads at that price.

Butter was $.0275 higher at $1.95. There were a total of five loads sold, including three at the closing price and one each at $1.9475 and $1.9525.

Nonfat dry milk was up $.0025 at $.7275 with three loads sold. The last bid unfilled was on one load at $.725. The last offer uncovered was for two loads at $.73.
