Wheat inspections up on week

The USDA reports that as of the week ending February 25th, sorghum inspections remain ahead of the previous marketing year’s pace.

Wheat came out at 371,934 tons, up 102,221 from the week ending February 18th, but down 108,820 from the week ending February 26th, 2015. For the 2015/16 marketing year to date, wheat inspections are 14,794,202 tons, compared to 16,997,993 in 2014/15.

Corn was reported at 737,602 tons, 171,208 lower than the previous week and 544,002 less than this time last year. So far this marketing year, corn inspections are 14,760,384 tons, compared to 18,586,618 a year ago.

Soybeans were pegged at 1,048,841 tons, 499,361 below the week before, but 398,174 above last year. At this point in the marketing year, soybean inspections are 38,472,823 tons, compared to 41,922,613 a year ago.

Sorghum inspections totaled 108,680 tons. That’s a decrease of 108,426 tons on the week and 96,139 on the year. 2015/16 sorghum inspections are 5,157,019 tons, compared to 4,763,533 in 2014/15.
