2015 a record year for biodiesel usage

New data from the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) shows consumers used a record 2.1 billion gallons of biodiesel in 2015.

Joe Jobe, CEO of the National Biodiesel Board (NBB), says consumers looking for alternatives find biodiesel is a high performing fuel and a cost-competitive alternative to petroleum diesel. Biodiesel, he says, “is becoming a mainstream American fuel.”

The EPA says fuel companies produced an additional 100-million gallons of biodiesel last year, up from 2 billion gallons in 2014.
