Missouri and Nebraska governors to lead Biofuels group

Missouri Governor Jay Nixon has been named Chairman of the Governor’s Biofuels Coalition. Nebraska Governor Pete Ricketts becomes vice chairman this year.  Both of them thanked Iowa Governor Terry Branstad for leading the group as chairman.

Nixon says the Coalition will continue to advocate for policies that grow the biofuel industry like “proposing legislation that will encourage investment in the nation’s advanced biofuel industry.”

Also, “asking the EPA to open the market for ethanol as a source of clean octane; dropping the obsolete vapor pressure restrictions on higher ethanol blends; and restore fuel economy credits (CAFE).”
