2015 Wisconsin Farm Technology Days announces donations

Wipperfurth

Dane County reported the final numbers from this year’s Wisconsin Farm Technology Days. Dane County Executive Committee Chair Bob Wipperfurth announced the committee will share $150,000 with the county’s youth in the form of grants and scholarships.  In addition, the 56 nonprofit groups which volunteered at the show’s food tents will share $98,000 for their organizations.

A part of University of Wisconsin-Extension; Wisconsin Farm Technology Days moves to a different location around the state each year. Counties bid to host the three-day show usually three-years in advance.  A county executive committee is formed which then builds committees to run all aspects of the show.  All are volunteers.

As with Dane County; any profits generated from the event are used in the host county, usually to support youth programs, scholarships and nonprofit organizations.

The 2016 show will be in Walworth County in southeastern Wisconsin; 2017 will be in northeastern Kewaunee County and the 2018 show will be in central Wisconsin hosted by Wood County.
