Good week for sorghum inspections

The USDA reports 2015/16 sorghum export inspections remain ahead of last marketing year’s pace.

Wheat for the week ending November 26th, 2015 came out at 275,736 tons, up 2,744 from the week ending November 19th, but down 430 from the week ending November 27th, 2014. For the 2015/16 marketing year to date, wheat inspections are 10,216,313 tons, compared to 12,150,618 in 2014/15.

Corn was reported at 298,692 tons, 196,265 lower than the previous week and 457,415 less than this time last year. So far this marketing year, corn inspections are 6,714,251 tons, compared to 9,095,462 a year ago.

Soybeans were pegged at 1,835,072 tons, 20,049 below the week before and 214,584 under last year. At this point in the marketing year, soybean inspections are 19,968,536 tons, compared to 21,541,235 a year ago.

Sorghum inspections totaled 213,729 tons. That’s an increase of 2,175 tons on the week and a jump of 50,661 on the year. 2015/16 sorghum inspections are 2,817,321 tons, compared to 2,097,803 in 2014/15.
