Syngenta countersues grain handling companies

Syngenta is countersuing the grain handling companies it says are responsible for comingling corn traits unapproved by China that resulted in China rejecting several shipments of the grain.  Syngenta faces claims of lost market share because of China turning away shipments of Syngenta Viptera and Duracade corn that China had yet to approve for import.  But Syngenta says the lost market share is the fault of Cargill, ADM, Express Grain Terminal, and Rail Transfer Incorporated for comingling the corn that was not approved by China.

Since 2013, when China began turning away the corn shipments, Syngenta has been sued by farmers and grain handling companies for losses connected to the rejected grain.
