96% of U.S. winter wheat planted

U.S. winter wheat planting and emergence are close to average as the crop heads towards dormancy.

As of Sunday, 96% of winter wheat has been planted, just behind the five year average of 100%, and 90% has emerged, matching the normal pace. 53% of the winter wheat crop is rated good to excellent, up 1% on the week.
