Wind-blown & wet across the Corn Belt

Across the Corn Belt, rain is falling across the upper Midwest. Meanwhile, showers and thunderstorms are crossing the eastern Corn Belt. Mild weather prevails throughout the region, but most late-season fieldwork is on hold due to the recent and ongoing precipitation.

On the Plains, mostly dry weather prevails in the wake of a departing storm system. A few snow-related travel disruptions linger across the central High Plains, while snow showers currently dot the northern High Plains.

In the South, dry weather has returned to areas west of the Mississippi Delta, following the latest round of heavy rain. However, lowland flooding continues in a few areas. Meanwhile, showers and thunderstorms are sweeping into the Southeast, where renewed rainfall could cause additional problems for cotton and peanuts.

In the West, dry weather accompanies a gradual warming trend in California and the Southwest. Meanwhile, drought-easing rain and snow showers are gradually subsiding across the Northwest.
