Soybean inspections top 1.8 million tons

The USDA reports soybean export inspections for the week ending October 8th were above what’s needed weekly to meet USDA projections for the 2015/16 marketing year.

Wheat came out at 290,717 tons, down 270,692 from the week ending October 1st and 197,772 lower than the week ending October 9th, 2014. For the 2015/16 marketing year to date, wheat inspections are 8,323,608 tons, compared to 10,067,642 in 2014/15.

Corn was reported at 573,298 tons, 103,601 more than the previous week, but 367,912 less than last year at this time. A little more than a month into the marketing year, corn inspections are 3,794,024 tons, compared to 4,978,671 a year ago.

Soybeans were pegged at 1,831,696 tons, up 675,880 from the week before and 384,429 higher than last year. So far this marketing year, soybean inspections are 4,428,376 tons, compared to 3,951,607 a year ago.

Sorghum inspections totaled 369,398 tons, an increase of 72,320 on the week and 238,098 on the year. 2015/16 sorghum inspections are 1,410,520 tons, compared to 941,479 in 2014/15.
