Soybean harvest in Minnesota is nearly complete and well ahead of normal.

USDA’s latest Crop Progress report has bean harvest statewide at 91 percent complete, almost two weeks ahead of last year and nine days ahead of average.

Corn harvest as of Sunday was trending near normal at 29 percent finished, just a day behind the five year average.

The state’s potato crop is 93 percent harvested, slightly ahead of normal.

Just 12 percent of Minnesota’s sugar beet acreage is left to be harvested, and sunflower harvest is nine days ahead of average at 56 percent complete.

There were more than six days suitable for field work last week and USDA says tillage was being done in harvested fields.
