Koster joins states suing EPA over Clean Power Plan

Missouri Attorney General Chris Koster says he’s joined with more than 20 other states suing the EPA over its so-called Clean Power Plan. Like the EPA’s water rule, Koster says the power rule is an overreach and the EPA is exceeding its authority in issuing new regulations.

The rules set strict limits on carbon emissions for states. Koster says complying with EPA’s deadlines would cost Missouri more than 6-Billion dollars. He says the state is better off continuing to develop renewable energy sources that produce low and zero emissions, keeping its energy costs low.
