South Dakota soybean combining picks up steam

It was warm and dry in South Dakota until rain brought a cool-down late in the week.  There was a bunch of soybean combining and winter wheat seeding done.

About 46 percent of the soybeans are out of the field and the crop is 78 percent good to excellent.

Corn is 80 percent mature and 12 percent harvested, which is behind normal.  The crop is 78 percent good to excellent.

Winter wheat planting is ahead of normal at 83 percent done.  A third of the crop is up.

Sorghum is 63 percent mature and 13 percent harvested.

The third cutting of alfalfa is 90 percent done.

South Dakota pastures are 53 percent good to excellent.
