Solid week for soybean export inspections

The USDA reports soybean export inspections for the week ending October 1st were ahead of what’s needed to meet USDA projections for the marketing year.

Wheat came out at 557,109 tons, down 78,590 from the week ending September 24th and 141,596 lower than the week ending October 2nd, 2014. For the 2015/16 marketing year to date, wheat inspections are 8,028,028 tons, compared to 9,579,153 in 2014/15.

Corn was reported at 469,697 tons, 340,689 below the previous week and 418,547 less than this time last year. A little more than a month into the current marketing year, corn inspections are 3,220,726 tons, compared to 4,037,461 a year ago.

Soybeans were pegged at 1,122,669 tons, up 581,099 from the week before and 120,012 higher than last year. So far this marketing year, soybean inspections are 2,563,533 tons, compared to 2,504,340 a year ago.

Sorghum inspections totaled 297,378 tons. That’s a decrease of 39,479 tons on the week, but an increase of 122,851 on the year. 2015/16 sorghum inspections are 1,041,122 tons, compared to 810,179 in 2014/15.
