Cash butter drops, milk futures mixed

In the spot dairy market, AA butter was down $.20 at $2.50. That’s after gaining $.19 on Thursday. There were eleven loads sold, including nine at the closing price. The last bid unfilled was for one load at $2.49. The last offer uncovered was for two loads at $2.50.

Cash cheese was higher. Barrels were up $.0375 at $1.6175, with a total of six loads sold. The last bid unfilled was for one load at $1.60. Blocks were $.035 at $1.7475. The last bid unfilled was for one load at that price.

Grade a nonfat dry milk was unchanged at $1.06. There were six loads sold, including two at $1.07, two at $1.08, and one at the closing price. The last bid unfilled was for one load at $1.06 and the last offer uncovered was for two loads at $1.0775.

In Class III milk trade at the Chicago Mercantile Exchange, milk futures were mixed. October was up $.11 at $15.69 and November was down $.08 at $15.63, while December was $.07 lower at $15.69 and January was $.07 higher at $15.72.
