Cash butter closes higher
In the spot dairy market, cash butter bounced back after a couple of days of big losses. AA butter was up $.19 at $2.70, with five loads sold, including three at that price. The last bid unfilled was for one load at $2.70.
Cash cheese was higher. Barrels were $.0175 higher at $1.58, with a total of six loads sold. The last bid unfilled was one load at that price and the last offer uncovered was for one load at $1.59. Blocks were $.0425 higher at $1.7125. The last bid unfilled was for one load at that price.
Grade a nonfat dry milk was up $.10 at $1.06. There were a total of six loads sold. The last bid unfilled was for one load at $1.05 and the last offer uncovered was for three loads at $1.07.
In Class III futures trade at the Chicago Mercantile Exchange, milk was mostly higher. October was up $.10 at $15.58 and November was down $.01 at $15.71, while December was $.08 higher at $15.76 and January gained $.07 to $15.65.
