Nebraska State Fair ag exhibit expands outdoors
The Raising Nebraska agricultural display at the Nebraska State Fair, in just its second year, has become one of the fair’s most popular stops.
The display has expanded this year with the addition of an outdoor learning experience. Chuck Hibberd, dean of Extension at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln, says the plot of land, a little smaller than one acre in size, showcases the diversity of agriculture in the state.
“We’re going to grow all the crops, the trees, the bushes, the grapevines—everything that we grow in Nebraska will be grown in this space,” Hibberd says, “and so when people come during the summer—before or after the fair, or during the fair—they’ll be able to see Nebraska agriculture.”
The Raising Nebraska display is open year-round. It plays host to students, foreign trade teams and other groups throughout the year.
