The results of Allendale Incorporated’s 2015 crop survey suggest lower corn and soybean yield projections later this month from the USDA.

This year’s corn yield is estimated at 167.1 bushels per acre, 1.7 less than USDA’s August update, with a crop of 13.548 billion bushels, down 138 million from the last USDA guess.

Soybeans are seen at 45.4 bushels per acre, 1.5 under the August projection, with a crop of 3.791 billion bushels, 125 million less than the USDA’s August report.

The estimates are based on a survey of producers in 28 states conducted from mid to late August.

The next set of USDA production numbers is out September 11th.
