Minnesota conference to focus on societal concerns of animal nutrition

An upcoming conference in Minnesota will focus on how society views animal nutrition.

Dr. Alfredo DiCostanzo co-chairs the annual conference.

“This is the 76th edition of the conference, and the focus has always been to provide timely information on issues related to nutrition.”

He tells Brownfield the public is concerned about the conditions in which animals are raised and that has implications for producers.

“Those implications have something to do with (the) cost of animals, as well as supply of alternative products that may not be available in the large amounts the nutritionist may need.”

DiCostanzo says the Conference will take a two-ended approach.

“There is a perception of how we should react and shape to it (nutrition guidelines) as we see it coming, as well as how are we beginning to handle these new implications of new regulatory environment that we’re under.”

The Minnesota Nutrition Conference will be September 16th and 17th at Mystic Lake Casino in Prior Lake.  Early-bird registration ends on the 11th.
