South Dakota crop conditions favorable

The condition of South Dakota’s corn and soybean crops continues to be almost identical. As of Sunday, nearly 60% of each crop was in “good” condition with nearly 20% of the crops in “excellent” shape.

Corn at the dough stage is 81 percent, similar to last year and the average but it’s ahead of last year in denting, at 28 percent.

Nearly 100 percent of soybeans in the state are blooming and about 90 percent are setting pods, on pace with last year and the average.

Spring wheat harvest is ahead of last year and the average at 86% complete.
