Bullseye on crop insurance is growing larger
The top congressional lobbyist for the American Farm Bureau Federation (AFBF) continues to warn of potential cuts to crop insurance.
AFBF’s senior director of congressional relations Mary Kay Thatcher spoke last week at a Nebraska Farm Bureau policy issues orientation meeting in Kearney. She talked about the growing sentiment in Congress that too much money is being spent on crop insurance. Brownfield was also at the Kearney meeting and talked to Thatcher about crop insurance and other ag-related issues in Congress.
