Growing the urban appeal of 4-H
One of the successes of 4-H and FFA has been the growth in non-traditional membership. The Wisconsin State Fair is an agricultural showcase held in the largest metropolitan area in the state, Wisconsin Agriculture Secretary Ben Brancel says that presents a great way to increase urban involvement in 4-H. “They can’t all own a pig and a cow, there are a lot of projects they see on these grounds that they can get involved in.”
