Another successful Wisconsin 4-H Foundation auction

Brunnquell 2014

Another successful evening for the 4-H Foundation at the Wisconsin State Fair. Businesses from across the state filled the chairs at the Case IH Coliseum to bid for the Champion and Reserve Champion products at the 24th annual Governor’s Blue Ribbon Meat Products Auction. Urged-on by Governor Walker, the auction raised more than $120,000 for the foundation. John Brunnquell chairs the event, he says “There’s an energy, 4-H has such a great brand it is easy to talk to corporate citizens and because of the excellent reputation of 4-H they buy in.

A total of 21 products and packages were sold with record prices paid for all of the Grand Champion products. A number of items were donated back for resale during the event. An “Ultimate Bacon” from Lake Geneva Country Meats was named Best of Show and sold for a record $21,000 to a consortium of buyers.

New this year, the Foundation is offering Holiday Gift Packs featuring the 2014 Best of Show summer sausage from Maplewood Meats of Green Bay. Order details are available at the Wisconsin 4-H Foundation website.

Next year, the 25th Anniversary Auction will be August 9th, 2016.
