What’s new with poo

The Michigan Innovations in Agriculture Summer Tour this August is focused on manure management. The bus tour, “What’s New with Poo,” will visit four farms in Mid-Michigan that showcase manure based conservation practices and new technologies. Highlights during the program include cover crops in a manure-based system, harvestable buffers and manure separating systems.

Clinton County Conservation District Technician Lindsey Martin says Michigan Innovations in Agriculture tours and field days will be annual on-farm events to help farmers stay up-to-date on advancements in agriculture.  “Not in just in a classroom setting, but a real hands-on, get down and dirty, let’s see what real farms just like you and I are actually putting into place.”

The 2015 tour is coordinated by MSU Extension, in cooperation with the Clinton County Conservation District, Gratiot County Farm Bureau and others.
