Two Illinois youths receive “Youth in Ag” Awards

WCCI radio was proud to present two Brownfield Ag News “Youth in Ag” awards to recipients from Stephenson and Jo Daviess Counties in Illinois.

The 2015 “Youth in Ag” Winner for Stephenson County is Daniel Obert of Orangeville. Daniel is a 2015 graduate of Orangeville High School and will be attending Illinois State University in Normal in the fall to study Ag Business. He hopes to one day become an Ag Teacher and serve in a small school like the one he attended. He told us that FFA and 4-H have helped develop skills that he will use the rest of his life.

The 2015 “Youth in Ag” Award Winner in Jo Daviess County is Veronica Moote of Apple River. Veronica is the daughter of Kevin Moote & Lori Steitz. She is a 2015 Graduate of Warren High School, and will be studying Business at the University of Wisconsin-Platteville this farm. She wants to continue to work with her animals and may end up in an Ag related business because of that. Living on the farm and taking care of her animals has been a major part of her life growing up.
