Legislative conference seeks HSUS investigation

CSG

Delegates to the Midwestern Legislative Conference of The Council of State Governments (CSG) last week passed a resolution calling on their states’ attorneys general to investigate the fundraising efforts of the Humane Society of the United States (HSUS).

The resolution states while HSUS promotional materials give the impression that dogs and cats are the main focus, only 1 percent of the money raised goes to pet shelters and HSUS runs no pet shelters itself.

CSG is a non-profit, non-partisan organization of state legislatures, executive branches and state courts. The states in the CSG Midwest group are Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Michigan, Minnesota, Nebraska, North Dakota, Ohio, South Dakota and Wisconsin.

  • Congratulations for a very pro-active approach to expose HSUS for who they really are. If we could get other state associations and organizations to do something similar we could really make some progress against HSUS. Lets hope others will latch on to your lead

  • HSUS is nothing more than a fund raising organization with two goals: end humankind’s connection to animals in ALL ways – no pets, no meat, no leather shoes – and to enrich the bank accounts of its leaders.

  • This has been rumored for a number of years. I have therefor avoided making any donations to their cause. It is WRONG to use helpless animals to make people think that is what they are contributing to help. Like all phony fundraising, they should be made to stop the deceit.

  • This probably will be stopped by the FBI as they essentially refused to look at HSUS for being a fradulant, essential lobbying agency. Unfortunately, since HSUS, the Department of Justice, FBI, the Fraternal Order of Police and the Sheriff’s association and DA associations seems to have formed a bond with HSUS.

I presented FBI Director James Comey with an HSUS Humane Law Enforcement Award this week for including animal cruelty offenses in the FBI’s Uniform Crime Report. Also in the picture, NSA Acting Executive Director John Thompson.

After Comey’s remarks, he was presented with an award from the National Humane Society for approving—at the request of the National Sheriffs’ Association and the Animal Welfare Institute—the addition of animal cruelty offenses as a separate category in the FBI’s Uniform Crime Report. The collection of this data will begin in 2016. (This is essentially the formation of public animal abuser lists where abuse is in the eye of the beholder and if an animal rights activist anything can be abuse in their eyes.) Just remember that social movements intend to end something, and in the case of animal rights it is use of any animal by humans ended. Does HSUS know what a world they would be creating? Just imagine…………if you dare.

The HSUS has a long history of collaborating with and training prosecutors to successfully prosecute animal cruelty cases.Prosecutors are the key to ensuring that animal protection laws are enforced and abusers are punished.

    HSUS post again:
Yesterday, it was my great privilege to attend the National Sheriffs’ Association conference in Washington, D.C. and to present an HSUS Humane Law Enforcement Award to Federal Bureau of Investigation director James Comey in front of sheriffs throughout the nation. It was Director Comey who in 2014 gave final approval to the government’s new policy of including animal cruelty offenses in the Uniform Crime Report, and for that critically important action, he gets our annual award for leadership among law enforcement officials.
In other news: (The Fraternal Order of Police (FOP) is a labor union consisting of sworn law enforcement officers in the United States. It reports a membership of over 325,000 members organized in 2100 local chapters (lodges), organized into local lodges, state lodges, and the national Grand Lodge. The union attempts to improve the working conditions of law enforcement officers and the safety of those they serve through education, legislation, information, community involvement, and employee representation.)

“The Fraternal Order of Police has announced its support for a reward program established by The Humane Society of the United States to help combat illegal animal cruelty at puppy mills. The HSUS offers a reward of up to $5,000 to anyone who provides any information leading to the arrest and conviction of a puppy mill operator for illegal animal cruelty. Persons wishing to report a valid tip are encouraged to call 1-877-MILL-TIP and will remain anonymous.”
“Puppy mills are known to breed animal cruelty, often in violation of state cruelty laws,” said Chuck Canterbury, national president of the Fraternal Order of Police. “The Fraternal Order of Police is glad to have this new tool to help protect dogs in puppy mills, and we thank The Humane Society of the United States for making this reward possible.”

Below another HSUS announcement: Training prosecutors and judges/
As director of animal cruelty prosecutions for The HSUS, Sherry conducts training seminars on prosecuting and adjudicating animal cruelty cases. Geared toward law enforcement personnel, prosecuting attorneys and judges, the presentations draw from Sherry’s experience to help participants learn the skills essential to prosecuting and adjudicating animal abuse cases.

It looks like Wayne Pacelle is making friends in the Justice System but where is the justice for humans accused of any animal abuse or confiscation when it comes to dealing with the justice system. Seems the deck is stacked and not to protect human rights but to protect animals. HSUS has been training children from kindergarten through law school and teaching 8 year olds how to lobby through their Kindness magazine. People from other countries are encouraged to sign ballot initiatives. I would venture to say for the sake of humanity that HSUS needs to be investigated. It has removed more money from our economy than anyone imagines in all animal industries. Yes, I would venture to say it is past time for a look-see into this “charity”/lobbying agency. Those who farm, own pets, or animal related business do not stand a chance in court it seems, but usually those charged are encouraged to sign their dogs, cows, horses over and never see the inside of a court room, that needs to change.
The whistle blower who worked for HSUS recently was videotaped, telling how HSUS works to end farming. No one noticed!
