High yield management shows long term benefits

AJ Woodyard, BASF, at a field day near Champaign, Ill., July 7, 2015BASF is studying various fertility programs on plots of land in several parts of the U.S.  AJ Woodyard, technical crop production specialist with BASF tells Brownfield Ag News that plots are managed in a standard fertility program as well as in a high fertility program that includes micronutrients such as sulfur, zinc and boron.

“In year one we certainly saw value in the high management system in both corn and soybeans,” said Woodyard.  “We saw a benefit of the fertility, we’re especially seeing a benefit of sulfur and zinc.”
