Solid week for soybean inspections

The USDA reports soybean export inspections for the week ending July 2nd were above what’s needed weekly to meet USDA projections for the current marketing year, while corn and wheat were short of their respective marks.

Wheat came out at 368,818 tons, up 8,226 from the week ending June 25th, but down 113,103 from the week ending June 3rd, 2014. A little more than a month into the 2015/16 marketing year, wheat inspections are 1,608,356 tons, compared to 2,332,901 early in 2014/15.

Corn was reported at 839,324 tons, 202,063 lower than the previous week and 424,343 less than this time last year. At this point in the 2014/15 marketing year, corn inspections are 36,767,363 tons, compared to 39,124,689 in 2013/14.

Soybeans were pegged at 197,441 tons, 99,419 below the prior week, but 104,743 above a year ago. For the marketing year to date, soybean inspections are 48,084,204 tons, compared to 42,694,747 last year.

Sorghum inspections totaled 367 tons. That’s a decrease of 102,961 tons on the week and 64,684 on the year. 2014/15 sorghum inspections are 7,530,534 tons, compared to 3,634,671 in 2013/14.
