USDA to resurvey producers in several states

Programs ICON

The USDA is set resurvey farmers in several states to get a more accurate view of this year’s planted acreage.

According to a statement from the Ag Department, producers in Arkansas, Kansas, and Missouri will be asked for new soybean acreage figures, and Kansas sorghum growers will also be resurveyed. Cotton acreage for Texas will also be redone.

USDA says if the new data justifies changes, updated planted acreage projections will be in the August 12th crop production report.
