Iowa not part of Clean Water Act lawsuits
Iowa is not among the more than two dozen states that have filed lawsuits against the U.S. EPA and Army Corps of Engineers over the new Clean Water Act rule.
In a statement provided to Brownfield, Iowa Attorney General Tom Miller says that while he has concerns with the EPA’s “broad” definition of waterways under its control, he is pleased with the exemptions for agriculture that are in the rule.
Miller adds, “We will monitor the lawsuit and the EPA’s implementation of the rule.”
