A good week for Nebraska’s crops

Last week was a good week, overall, for Nebraska’s crops.

Corn is starting to silk in some locations and the crop is rated 70 percent good to excellent. Soybeans rated 68 percent good to excellent with ten percent of the crop blooming.

Wheat harvest is just getting started, a little behind normal.  The crop is rated 36 percent good to excellent, 30 percent fair, and 34 percent poor to very poor.

Alfalfa condition rated 72 percent good to excellent.  Second cutting of alfalfa stood at 15 percent, slightly behind average.

Pasture and range conditions rated 77 percent good to excellent.
