Enrollment period final step in process

With enrollment in the ARC and PLC programs underway, we’re reminded the steps it’s taken to get to this point.

As eligible farmers schedule a visit to their local FSA office to enroll in either the ARC or PLC program, Farms Service Agency Administrator Val Dolcini says it’s the final step that began last September with the first of four “E’s”…education.

“Letting folks know there were new Farm Bill programs they had to consider, then they began to evaluate those programs, the next step was to elect between one program or another and now we’re at the final “e,” which is enrollment,” Dolcini said. “And that is actually the process of signing the contract at the local county FSA office by the 30th of September.”

Dolcini says the FSA’s extensive outreach campaign has led to more than 1.7 million farmers having elected ARC or PLC.
