Don’t sweat the small stuff and enjoy the moment

Wedig president

On Thursday morning, Alison Wedig will step on the stage one last time as Wisconsin State FFA President.  A year ago she was selected from the 2013-14 officer team to lead a new group of sectional representatives.  Wedig is proud of the way those ten members have melded into a team of leaders and friends.  “I’m so excited to see where their futures will go.”

She says one of the team’s biggest accomplishments this year was making changes to events and activities to make them better.  Wedig says she would like to see the Wisconsin FFA do even more in the areas of social networking with individual members.

While she is sad to see her two years as a state officer come to an end, she says she will be happy as she delivers her retiring address on Thursday morning.  “Happy that I had the opportunity to serve the organization and happy that I have something to share with them and hope that they run with it and make their FFA experiences come to life.”   She would like her year to be remembered as a year of change, service and a lot of heart.

Her advice to the next state president: “Don’t sweat the small stuff and enjoy the moment.”

Wedig will continue her education at the University of Wisconsin-Madison and plans to continue being involved in FFA.
