Illinois FFA officer says “it’s the people”

Programs ICONThe Illinois FFA State Treasurer is one of a team of officers looking back on the past year as they get ready to hand their leadership roles to others. About 4-thousand people are gathered in Springfield for the 2015 state convention.

Willow Krumwiede of Pike County says it’s been an exciting year as a state officer, “For our overseas trip we got to go to South Africa. For chapter visits I got to visit everywhere from the schools in Chicago to the schools pretty much as south as you can get in Illinois. So, I’ve definitely met a lot of people through these experiences. And, I think, overall, if I can say a favorite part of the year, it’s just the people I have met.”

She says this convention will be chance to see how far all the FFA members she’s visited over the past year have come. HER plans are to enter college this fall…

“This summer, I’ll be going back home, picking up some jobs back in Pike County, Illinois and before I know it the school year will be here in the fall and I’ll be majoring in Ag Education at U of I.”
