Syngenta rejects Monsanto’s second offer
Syngenta has rejected a second offer from rival Monsanto to purchase the company saying it was just as inadequate as the first.
Syngenta said the only difference from the offer in April was that Monsanto added an “inadequate reverse regulatory break fee.”
Syngenta told Monsanto it had not taken seriously the regulatory risks involved that must be addressed.
Analysts say Monsanto stands to benefit from Syngenta’s broad portfolio of agro-chemicals.
