OCWGA not surprised, but disappointed in EPA

On Friday, May 29, the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency announced a reduction in the renewable volume obligation required by gasoline manufacturers and retailers in 2015 and 2016.

Chad Kemp, President of the Ohio Corn and Wheat Growers Association (OCWGA) says even though they weren’t surprised by the EPA announcement, they were disappointed.

“We won’t give up, this is a hurdle, not a roadblock,” Kemp said. “We will continue to push because we know at the end this is something that our country definitely still needs.”

Kemps says the Renewable Fuel Standard has been very successful, achieving the goals it was designed to accomplish.
