Bakers Association urges action on egg shortage

The American Bakers Association is urging its members to contact the USDA and Congress to address the egg and egg product shortage affecting the baking industry.

The group says the impact of the avian influenza outbreak on egg laying hens is substantial and egg supplies are decreasing fast.

The association wants the USDA to increase egg product imports to help offset the losses in the U.S. egg market.
