Michigan 4-H has canceled this weekend’s Michigan 4-H State Poultry Show.    Scheduled for Saturday, May 16, at the Eaton County Fair Grounds in Mid-Michigan, the State Poultry Show is taking precautions against the recent High Pathogenic Avian Influenza (HPAI) outbreak in Northeast Indiana.

Officials say they were encouraged by veterinarians and Michigan State University poultry specialists to prevent the spread of the influenza into Michigan.

Michigan 4-H says canceling the show is in the best interest of 4-H youth, families and the state’s poultry industry.
