Oklahomans to vote on right-to-farm

Programs ICON A right-to-farm constitutional amendment will go before Oklahoma voters next fall. The measure got strong bipartisan support in the legislature but was not without opposition. Some lawmakers expressed concerns about unintended consequences of such an amendment saying it will allow large foreign corporations to have more control over agriculture in the state. Supporters say the rights of farmers need to be “forever guaranteed.” The Oklahoma measure is reportedly similar to right-to-farm amendments in North Dakota and Missouri.

  • It is so terribly sad that we have to vote to protect our God Given Right to feed ourselves and families.

  • Unless my understanding of our Constitution is totally wrong, it guarantees the right to farm in a broader statement………the Fourth Amendment comes to mind along w/the Castle Doctrine and many other parts of our Constitution. If we read and clearly understood our Constitution we wouldn’t need all these thousands of laws that have been passed to the point that Americans don’t know if nor when they are breaking laws………….we are being criminalized from the impact of too many laws. Yes, I am a pro farmer person and hunt game birds w/my dogs.
