WOTUS: “You take their money away”

The chairman of the Senate Agriculture Committee says the final Waters of the U.S. rule can be stopped through the funding process.

“You take their money away. We’re doing a budget. Once you do a budget, you can do reconciliation. Once you do reconciliation, you can do appropriation bills.”

Kansas Senator Pat Roberts says the EPA is aware of its overreach but he doesn’t expect the rule will be much better for farmers and ranchers when the final rule is released.

“You can’t implement it if you do not have the money to implement it.”

Roberts says the EPA doesn’t have the personnel right now to implement the rule anyway. Roberts spoke with farm broadcasters at the NAFB Washington Watch in Washington, DC this Wednesday.
