Corn, soybean inspections up on week

The USDA reports soybean and corn export inspections for the week ending April 23rd were more than what’s needed to meet USDA projections for the 2014/15 marketing year, while wheat was short of its mark.

Wheat came out at 543,929 tons, down 65,674 from the week ending April 16th and 115,798 lower than the week ending April 24th, 2014. For the 2014/15 marketing year to date, wheat inspections are 20,763,776 tons, compared to 28,438,394 late in 2013/14.

Corn was reported at 1,293,996 tons, up 222,685 from the previous week and 135,968 higher than this time last year. So far this marketing year, corn inspections are 26,535,900 tons, compared to 27,992,714 a year ago.

Soybeans were pegged at 311,622 tons, 163,438 above the week before and 57,323 more than last year. At this point in the marketing year, soybean inspections are 45,802,514 tons, compared to 41,353,670 a year ago.

Sorghum inspections totaled 108,489 tons. That’s a decrease of 109,730 tons on the week and 11,059 on the year. 2014/15 sorghum inspections are 6,449,340 tons, compared to 2,933,667 in 2013/14.
