USDA’s Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service confirmed three new cases of the highly pathogenic avian influenza virus in commercial turkey flocks in Minnesota Tuesday.

Wadena County reported its first detection, Cottonwood County now has two and Kandiyohi County, with eight confirmed cases, has more than any other county in the state.

The Minnesota Board of Animal Health estimates over 2.1 million turkeys have been affected.
