Conservation funds for Fox River Watershed

Wisconsin farmland

U.S. Department of Agriculture has conservation funds available to farmers in the Lower Fox River watershed in eastern Wisconsin.  The funds can be used to install conservation systems to reduce phosphorus runoff and soil erosion.  Wisconsin will receive $800,000 to help farmers with waste storage facilities, crop residue management, nutrient management, cover crops, grassed waterways and others.

Interested producers and landowners should contact their local USDA Service Center before May 15th to apply.

The Lower Fox Watershed encompasses portions of Brown, Outagamie, Calumet, Winnebago, and Manitowoc Counties.
