Weather
A variety of weather across the Corn Belt
Across the Corn Belt, cold weather accompanies light rain and snow showers across northern parts of the region. Farther south, mild weather prevails. Rain showers are maintaining soggy conditions in the Ohio Valley.
On the Plains, patches of light snow dot the northern tier of the region, particularly across Montana. In contrast, warm, mostly dry, breezy weather covers the central and southern Plains, maintaining stress on rangeland, pastures, and winter wheat.
In the South, scattered showers are causing local fieldwork delays. Some of the heaviest rain is falling in the Mississippi Delta, where spring planting activities remain behind schedule.
In the West, scattered rain and snow showers stretch from the Pacific Northwest to the northern Rockies. Cool, dry weather covers the remainder of the West, except for lingering warmth in the Four Corners States. In California, weekend showers boosted topsoil moisture but did not alter the state’s dire hydrological situation.
