TPP important to New Zealand

Janine Collier_First Secretary Trade and Agriculture_New Zealand Embassy (1)_webA New Zealand official says the proposed Trans Pacific Partnership (TPP) is important to her country – which has close to 4-and-a-half million people and more than 30-million sheep.

Janine Collier, First Secretary of Trade and Agriculture at the New Zealand Embassy in Washington, D.C., tells Brownfield the TPP is New Zealand’s first multi-lateral type of agreement and something she spends a lot of time working on.

“I work very closely with industries particularly those represented in Washington, D.C.,” Collier said. So the National Cattlemen’s Beef Association, National Milk Producers Federation, the International Dairy Foods Association.”

Collier says across the board, New Zealand agriculture would benefit by having the 12-country free trade agreement in place.
