Opportunities for US beef

With Russia remaining closed to most US beef and pork products, the US Meat Export Federation is looking to other markets in that region to help expand US meat exports.

John Brook, US Meat Export Federation regional director for Europe, Russia, and the Middle East says, “The main push is going to be in the Ukraine, Georgia, and Uzbekistan.  There is potential in all of those markets for quality products.  In all of these markets there is a HRI industry looking for product and that is where US beef stands out.”

He says USMEF is actively promoting high-quality US beef to the hotel and restaurant sector in those countries.
