Valent promotes new chemistry and essay contest

Valent USA unveiled a new seed treatment chemistry at the 2015 Commodity Classic.  Dawn Refsell, manager for field development in the Midwest for Valent, says agriculture in general is going thru a bit of a lull in development of new chemistry.  Valent’s new INTEGO seed treatment for soybeans features the first new active ingredients for pythium and phytophthora control in the last 30 years.  Refsell tells Brownfield it was great to announce the development at Classic and that Valent’s goal is to protect seed from insects and diseases giving it the best chance of success.

Other products showcased by Valent at Classic included their Fierce XLT herbicide for soybeans and Rise Up smartgrass for corn.

In addition to highlighting products, Refsell also talked about a new essay contest by Valent called “Relentless As You.”  She says growing up on a farm, she knows how hard farmers work and wants them to share their stories in 100 words or less.  The prize is $1,000 for the winner’s local community.  The deadline to submit entries is March 21st.  Go to www.relentlessasyou.com for more information.
