Commodity Classic breaking records on its 20th

Bart Shott EDITTwenty years ago, Commodity Classic started in Phoenix, Arizona, and the 2015 show is breaking all previous records.

The show is back in Phoenix this year – where it all started – and according to co-chairman Bart Schott, it’s breaking records right and left.- He tells Brownfield by noon Wednesday, they had more than 7-thousand attendees registered, “For those of you guys that were here 20 years ago it’s a much different show. And, if you were here last year you’ll notice the expanded trade floor.”

And it’s expanded in part to accommodate more equipment manufacturers which Schott calls a win-win for growers,“I mean, us farmers, we love our machinery and so do our boys. And so does my grandson loves ‘em, too. So it just seems like a really good fit to have them here and join us.”

The Association of Equipment Manufacturers will join the show in 2016 in New Orleans which will more than double the size of the show.

Schott says it’s not too late to come to Classic THIS year, “You know, if you’re not here, get on the plane. Get down here. The weather’s beautiful. You can still be here and enjoy the Commodity Classic. Come on down.”

Commodity Classic runs through Saturday at the Phoenix Convention Center
